CUPRA’s New DNA: The Terramar
As part of its astounding new model line-up for 2024/25, CUPRA have unveiled the brand-new SUV, the Terramar.
Wayne Griffiths, the CEO of CUPRA has described this new era car as a “homage to the emblematic race circuit where the CUPRA brand was born.” This sporty SUV is said to redefine what an SUV can deliver for customers in terms of emotion, performance and design.
So, let’s take a closer look at what the new CUPRA Terramar has to offer including its exterior design package, interior design and powertrains.
Exterior Design
Described as highly emotional and sporty, this SUVs exterior styling embraces CUPRA’s new DNA and stands above the rest with distinctive elements.
The Terramar uses the brand’s new signature three triangles within the CUPRA Matrix LED Ultra lights (a first for the Terramar within CUPRA’s existing model line-up). This paired with dynamic High-Definition Technology and sculpting lines across the exterior panelling defines this model as high-end and luxurious.
These precision carved lines continue down the sides of the car suggestive of aerodynamic lines and further adding to the sports heritage of this car is the extenuated grille located at the head of the car.
The Terramar will be available in nine colours including two brand-new matt colours ‘Century Bronze Matt’ and ‘Enceladus Grey Matt’. So, if you’re going for the ‘wrapped’ look on your new car, get it standard with matt paint instead! The other Terramar exclusive colour is Dark Void which is inspired by the CUPRA DarkRebel show car.
Interior Design
With this car, you get a ‘welcome ceremony’ before you even open the door. Lights are sent dancing around the car while projecting the CUPRA emblem onto the floor. This sets the Terramar above the rest for a luxury experience.
CUPRA have made digitalisation the key highlight for this model as they have improved the digital cockpit behind the steering wheel, upgraded to a 12.9” infotainment system and augmented heads-up display delivering important driver information to your line of sight.
But all these digital revolutions aim to keep one thing paramount, user friendliness. For all there are many gadgets, CUPRA aim to make operations of this new model easy to use with climate control bars and temperature settings.
You can also be comfortable and sustainable sitting in the Terramar’s seats with 73% recycled textiles forming the soft fabrics around the interior with the Moon Light package. Even when you opt for leather seats in the High Canyon package, the material is plant-based!
As well as being pretty to look at, the Terramar has some serious practicality with sliding rear seats, large boot compartment and roomy passenger seats.
Powertrains
The Terramar will be available in a TSI petrol engine, an eTSI mild hybrid or an eHybrid which is a plug-in option. These engines produce from 150PS to 272PS depending on which one you choose.
And if you’re looking for a DSG gearbox, don’t worry about which one you’ll pick because they all come with a dual-shift DSG gearbox.
