Croft 2026: Cars, Conversations & A Very Competitive Racing Simulator

If there’s one thing we learned from our day at Croft Circuit, it’s that car people are all the same in the best possible way.

Whether someone arrived in a track-ready performance car, a classic they’ve owned for years or simply came along for a good day out, everyone was there for the same reason, the atmosphere, the conversations and a shared love of cars.

As part of the Pulman Group marketing team, Abby and I headed to Croft for the event, bringing along four cars to display on our stand:

After an early start setting everything up, it didn’t take long before the crowds started building around the circuit. Between the racing on track, the rows of incredible classic cars and the atmosphere around the paddock, there was constantly something happening throughout the day.

The Golf GTI Was Definitely a Crowd Favourite

Out of all the cars on the stand, the Golf GTI probably sparked the most conversation.

It’s one of those cars almost everyone has a story about. Some people owned one years ago, some wanted one as their first car, others were comparing generations and talking about how the GTI has changed over time. It naturally became a talking point throughout the day and led to some genuinely great conversations with customers and fellow enthusiasts.

But honestly, one of the best parts of the event was simply chatting with people full stop.

There were conversations happening all day around the stand about favourite cars, motorsport, road trips, first cars and everything in between. Some people stopped for five minutes and ended up staying for half an hour just talking cars.

That’s the side of events like this people don’t always see online.

The Racing Simulator Became Serious Business

What started as a bit of fun quickly became extremely competitive once lap times started going onto the leaderboard.

The racing simulator ended up pulling a number of people over all day, with people constantly trying to beat each other’s times around the track. There were celebrations, frustrations, near-perfect laps and plenty of “one more go” moments happening throughout the event.

Some people took it very seriously.

Others clearly discovered racing lines for the first time.

Either way, it made the atmosphere around the stand brilliant all day long. Watching people get competitive while everyone around them joined in made it one of the highlights of the event for both of us.

More Than Just the Racing

As much as the track action itself was incredible to watch, especially hearing the cars flying through the faster sections of Croft, there was just as much happening away from the circuit too.

We spent time looking around some amazing classic cars on display throughout the event. Everywhere you looked there was something different, from older performance icons to immaculate restorations that clearly meant a lot to their owners.
