Attending the Sir Graham Wylie 10th Anniversary Charity Golf Day at Close House was such a fantastic experience and one we feel incredibly lucky to have been part of representing Pulman Group. The event is always highly anticipated, not only because of the opportunity to spend the day at such a breathtaking venue playing golf, but also because of the incredible company, atmosphere, and most importantly, the awareness and funds it raises for ‘Have A Heart’ a truly amazing charity!
Every year, the ‘Have a Heart’ Charity Golf Day hosts a friendly competition on the green while raising funds for the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation. As Close House perfectly states, “the golf events have raised millions of pounds for the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation enabling the organisation to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless children and young people across the North East.” Hearing more about the impact the charity has had over the years for the North East, made the day feel even more meaningful.
Abby and Reece from the Pulman Group Marketing team had the pleasure of attending the charity event at our sponsored Number 9 hole, where we hosted the exciting ‘Hole In One’ challenge with a SEAT Ibiza and Volkswagen Polo up for grabs. All while keeping a close eye on the competition to make sure any hole-in-one celebrations were fully deserved! It was brilliant to meet so many people throughout the day and have some amazing conversations with notable figures from the sports, business, and entertainment world, all brought together in support of the charity.
Despite the forecast predicting rain for most of the day, we were definitely lucky with the weather. The sun made a few welcome appearances throughout the event, making the atmosphere on the course even brighter and allowing everyone to fully enjoy the day without the warm layers and waterproofs!
One of the standout parts of the event was seeing the amount of thought, planning, and hard work that goes into making the day so special for all its guests. From the organisation on the course to the overall experience for everyone attending, it was clear how much passion sits behind the event and the charity it represents. It creates such a welcoming environment for individuals and businesses to come together, raise awareness, and support a cause that genuinely makes a difference.
It was also great to spot some familiar faces from the Pulman Group team throughout the day with Keith, Matthew, Jak and Mark attending and taking part in the event themselves. From enjoying the friendly competition on the course to supporting the fundraising efforts throughout the day, it was fantastic to see the team getting fully involved and embracing the spirit of the event. Seeing everyone come together in support of such an important cause really highlighted the strong community spirit behind the day and reflected the values that make events like this so special.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such an incredible event. From the planning behind the scenes to creating such a welcoming and memorable atmosphere on the day, it’s clear how much hard work and passion goes into making the charity golf day such a success year after year. We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of such a special event supporting an amazing cause!
