Superb Performance! The Škoda Superb Scoops Top Family Car At UK Car Awards
The Škoda Superb has secured a win in the UK Car of the Year Awards as ‘Top Family Car’!
The Superb sits amongst six other models, who have also won accolades, with the overall Car of the Year set to be revealed from this list on the 6th of March 2025 in the final round of judging.
The UK Car of the Year judging panel for 2025 featured a host of established and experienced motoring media names, in-house Top Gear and Auto Express journalists alongside high profile freelancers.
The Superb’s accolade was a unanimous decision from the panel as it was voted top of the Family Car category. It’s no surprise this family estate has won this award with complete agreement from the judges and many more awards since its facelift release last year. The Superb was also named Best Estate in the 2024 Auto Express Awards and Best Estate 2025 by Carbuyer as well as Comfortable Cruiser of the Year by Carwow.
The judges were extremely impressed with the Superb’s features, styling and overall practicality with Top Gear journalist Ollie Marriage stating: “The world may be changing fast, but there’s still so much to be said for a car that knows precisely what it’s for.” Auto Express Editor Paul Barker also commented on the Superb, adding: “Clever, spacious, good quality and really good at all the stuff families will appreciate. Just a great all-rounder.”
The new Škoda Superb is available in a hatchback or estate form and comes with a range of different engine options from petrol to plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid model can offer you an all-electric driving range of up to 84 miles as well as the ability to use rapid DC charging at speeds of up to 50kW.
The Superb has always been one of Škoda’s most iconic cars and it continues to set an extremely high standard for interior space and boot space which makes this the ideal car for families who need comfort and plenty of room when they’re travelling.
