The fourth generation of Škoda Octavia has recently been revealed with styling refinements, fine-tuning and the inclusion of more sustainably sourced interior materials.
The outside of the Octavia looks fresher than ever with a completely redesigned front end. The newly designed grille and updated logo and lettering reflects the brands new CI with the front and rear bumpers giving the Octavia a stronger and more deliberate stance on and off the road. As a result of the new bodywork, the new Octavia is 9mm longer than the previous hatchback model.
Sticking with the front end of the car, the new design features second generation LED Matrix beam headlightsto deliver greater illumination for safety while on the road as well as cleverly shielding oncoming traffic from the glare of your lights. These headlights have also been moved to align with the top of the grille for an elegant and free-flowing appearance.
It's also great to hear that all base models of the brand-new Škoda Octavia will include headlights featuring LED technology as standard.
The new Octavia exterior is also coming with new exclusive colours and a new range of wheels too.The new 16” Matar wheels are aerodynamically optimised and come as standard with the Selection trim of the Octavia. Or if you’re a fan of glossy black wheels, the 17” Slagard aero wheels are available for the Sportline trim. Other new options include the 18” Lerna and the vRSspecific 19” Elias wheels available in either glossy machined silver or anthracite black Aero trims.
The Octavia has always been in a wide colour palette and now comprises of three solid colours and seven metallic finishes. If you love standing out from the crowd, Hyper Green is exclusive to the Sportline and vRS models while Phoenix Orange is only available on the Octavia Estate.
Škoda have created a catalogue of ninedesign options across the four model trims for the interior of the car with a view to including the use of more sustainable materials for elements such as seating, dashboard, and door panels within the car – which is a first for the Octavia.
As well as advancements in sustainability, the technology that will be available in this newly improved model has progressed too. As standard you get a 10” infotainment display complete with virtual cockpit and even ChatGPT, an AI based chatbot, will be integrated with the existing Laura voice assistant that introduces a variety of new capabilities that go far beyond the previous voice commands. You can also choose to upgrade to a 13” infotainment display and this is the first time an upgraded screen has been available on the Octavia.
Other interior features of this car include dual Climatronic system as standard in all models, a 15-watt phone box where you can fast charge your phone and the standard USB-C ports now deliver 45-watts with three times the charging power than before.
As if the new Octavia couldn’t get any better, it comes in six powertrains, two diesel and four petrol with options for mild hybrids too. Depending on which engine you choose, each gearbox is different with a six or seven-speed DSG.
We think this revitalised Octavia is looking fantastic so far and has promise to be an extremely popular hatchback when it becomes available to order.
