Introducing CUPRA’s first 100% electric SUV coupe, the all-new Tavascan. This new to the market SUV has been hotly anticipated for the last couple of years and now it’s finally becoming a reality with the model open for customer ordering on Wednesday 11th September.
As this is a brand-new model joining the CUPRA range, we want to share with you the details of the new addition by analysing each trim level, added extras and what you can expect from the performance of the car.
CUPRA have designed the Tavascan trim levels with the customer in mind, making it simpler to choose your ideal trim package. The four trims include the V1, V2, VZ1 and VZ2.
The V1 and V2 trims are available with a 77kWh battery and are rear wheel drive. This battery option pushes out performance of 286PS achieving 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds. Both models come with a battery range of approximately 353 miles.
The VZ1 and VZ2 make up the sportier versions of the Tavascan with performance pushing 340PS and a 77kWh all-wheel drive battery. That’s a 0-62mph time of 5.5 seconds. But with all this power, comes a slightly smaller battery range of approximately 324 miles.
CUPRA have described the new Tavascan model as part of the premium market as it comes with high specification levels on all trims. This means regardless of the trim you choose for your Tavascan; you will get premium features as standard.
The exterior of the car showcases a front and rear illuminated CUPRA logo which adds to the dynamic nature of this poignant SUV. Adding to the dynamic lighting, the front is adorned with LED highlights dubbed the signature “three-eyed” headlight and are paired with matching rear lights. The illuminations don’t stop there with door handle lights, welcome lights and logo projection.
Other exterior features include heated and foldable wing mirrors, electric tailgate with virtual pedal, dark tinted windows and tow bar preparation.
Stepping into the car, you can expect keyless entry and start as well as other driver convenience features such as wireless phone charger and four USB sockets.
There are other creature comforts that make your driving experience feel luxurious such as heated steering wheel made from leather with satellite buttons and paddles, three zone climate control and an electric interior mirror that can dim.
Also found in the interior is that all-important infotainment system. The 15” display sits central to the car with a 5.3” digital cockpit for the driver. The infotainment system itself has navigation, Bluetooth and DAB radio, wireless full link and voice assistant in its functionality.
The CUPRA Tavascan also has some useful driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, dynamic road sign display and intelligent park assist. These are fairly common features, but what the Tavascan does have is an emergency assist function and forward collision warning and automatic braking, potentially preventing frontal crashes.
Other features that can make your drive safer include side assist, lane assist, exit warnings for motorways and rear traffic alerts as well as attention and drowsiness assist.
