The ID. Buzz GTX

The all-electric ID. Buzz has joined the growing list of Volkswagen’s electric models to receive the sporty GTX variant.

This time, the GTX ID. Buzz comes with 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard for optimum power if the Buzz is being used for towing or needs that little extra traction. The GTX will be available in two wheelbases, two battery sizes and a choice of 5, 6 or 7 seats.

Equipped with two electric motors which form the all-wheel drive element to the Buzz GTX, and these motors are powered by the battery which can be charged from 10-80% in as little as 26 minutes with the use of a fast-charging point.

As mentioned before, this new model of Buzz has greater towing capabilities due to the extra power supplied by the 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The GTX with the standard wheelbase can tow up to 1,800kg while the long wheelbase version can pull up to 1,600kg. 4MOTION also allows the ID. Buzz to tow effortlessly on loose or wet surfaces with ease.

The new GTX exterior styling on the Buzz looks fantastic characterized by a GTX style bumper with black honeycomb air intake grille and air guides to give it a dynamic and distinctive look.

Cherry Red is the new exclusive colour for the ID. Buzz GTX, and it can be used in Volkswagen’s configurator to be a solid paint finish or in a combination with Mono Silver Metallic as a two-tone paint finish.​

Moving inside the ID. Buzz GTX, and it boasts style and luxury with darker elements such as the black headliner, underlining the sporty feel of the model. The GTX specific seating also features in this model and is finished off with pops of red piping along the seat trims and cross stitching on the steering wheel.

This futuristic model also comes with the latest in technology hardware and software. A head-up display will be an optional feature but will include a 12.9” touchscreen instead of the old 12” infotainment screen. The voice assistant IDA is also new for this model, operating by natural voice commands and operating select functions of the vehicle, yet also retrieving answers to questions by using sources such as Wikipedia and a ChatGPT integration.​

The final feature of the GTX that makes it feel somewhat like the legendary “Samba Bus” is the inclusion of the panoramic sunroof available with smart glass as an option. This glass is multi-layered and has integrated liquid crystal film and can be programmed by the push of a button to be opaque or transparent. This sunroof is the largest ever to be used in a Volkswagen and brings back a section of Volkswagen history into the present.
