Versatile and Ideal for All: The New Volkswagen Tayron

Volkswagen Tayron on a hill top

The new Volkswagen Tayron is now open for order and it’s looking like a strong contender in Volkswagen’s SUV line up.

It’s billed as the replacement for the Tiguan Allspace, and it certainly looks like a fantastic upgrade.

The Tayron is just 25cm bigger than the standard Tiguan, however, it looks and feels much bigger with its robust silhouette and commanding presence. Although it takes design cues from its relative the Tiguan, the Tayron has some distinctive exterior features that set it apart.

A sculpted bonnet and squared wheel arches sitting above 18”, 19” or 20” alloys give this new SUV a sturdy appearance as well as a powerful presence on the road. A smaller design element that is unique to the Tayron is its dual LED headlights, horizontal LED bar and light-up Volkswagen badge. This is the first time an illuminated logo has appeared on a combustion engine vehicle in Europe!

When you order your Tayron, you can expect each trim level to come with slightly different styling to the front and rear bumper. The Elegance trim features chrome elements in the 3D radiator grille and the R-Line holds a sportier appearance finished in high-gloss black.

As well as these comforting features, the Tayron is practical with its boot and space maximising options. The rear seats fold down to a 1/3 to 2/3 split and if your middle seat is free, you can fold down the armrest to reveal a set of cupholders and a stand for a smart device to sit, great for entertaining the kids on long-haul driving holidays!

The Tayron comes in a 5 or 7-seater option and when choosing the 7-seater, you can expect the second row of seats to fold forwards, giving you easy access to the third row and when your third row of seats isn’t in use, you can fold them flat to create a luggage compartment floor.

The new Tayron is offered with two plug-in hybrid drive trains, an eHybrid and a mild hybrid eTSI as well as two petrol turbocharged engines and one turbocharged diesel TDI engine. The power in these drive trains ranges from 150PS to 272PS.

The two petrol engines are paired with all-wheel drive and all other versions have front-wheel drive. Plus, enjoy an automatic DSG gearbox in all engine derivatives.

The Tayron is going to be a fantastic option for everyone’s needs. Whether you have a growing family and need the extra room or love going on holiday and you need space for your camping gear this new SUV is setting the bar above the rest.
